Aquarium engineering is a comprehensive work. From the construction of the aquarium to the maintenance of aquatic organisms, every link needs to be treated carefully. Any carelessness may affect the balance of the entire aquarium ecosystem and the survival of organisms. The following are the precautions that need to be focused on when carrying out aquarium engineering.

1. Planning and design

1. Space considerations:

According to the location of the aquarium, accurately measure the size of the space to ensure that the aquarium is of appropriate size, neither too crowded to affect viewing and operation, nor too large to appear inconsistent. At the same time, consider the weight of the aquarium and choose a sturdy and suitable placement to avoid damage to the ground or furniture.

2. Functional zoning:

Clarify the function of the aquarium, whether it is for simple viewing or for breeding and breeding of specific aquatic organisms. Aquariums with different functions have different design requirements. For example, breeding tanks require more stable water quality and a suitable breeding environment, while breeding tanks need to consider the growth space and breeding density of aquatic organisms.

2. Equipment selection

1. Filtration system:

A high-quality filtration system is the key to maintaining the water quality of the aquarium. According to the size of the aquarium and the number of farmed organisms, select filters of appropriate power and type, such as trickle filtration, bottom filtration, back filtration, etc. Ensure that the filter can effectively remove impurities, ammonia nitrogen and other harmful substances in the water to keep the water clean.

2. Lighting equipment:

Lighting is not only for beauty, but also essential for the growth and survival of aquatic organisms. According to the type of aquatic organisms being farmed, choose lamps with appropriate spectrum and intensity. For example, aquatic plants need full-spectrum lamps that simulate sunlight to meet the needs of photosynthesis of aquatic plants; while some nocturnal fish do not need too strong light.

3. Heating and temperature control equipment:

For most tropical aquatic organisms, stable water temperature is a necessary condition for survival. Choose reliable quality heating rods and accurate thermometers, and set and maintain stable water temperature according to the suitable water temperature range of aquatic organisms. The heating rods should be checked regularly to prevent abnormal water temperature due to failure.

3. Water quality management

1. Water source selection:

Try to use treated tap water or purified water as the water source. Chlorine and other harmful substances in tap water need to be removed by drying, adding water stabilizers, etc. Avoid using untreated river water, lake water, etc. to prevent the introduction of pathogens and parasites.

2. Water quality testing:

Regularly test water quality parameters, such as pH, hardness, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite, etc. Different aquatic organisms have different requirements for water quality parameters. Through testing, water quality problems are discovered in time and corresponding measures are taken to adjust them to ensure that the water quality meets the survival needs of organisms.

4. Biological selection and breeding

1. Biological compatibility:

When selecting aquatic organisms, consider their compatibility. Avoid mixing aggressive fish with gentle fish. At the same time, pay attention to whether the requirements of different organisms for environmental conditions such as water quality and water temperature are similar, and ensure that all organisms can live in harmony in the same aquarium.

2. Breeding density:

Reasonably control the breeding density to avoid overbreeding. Too many organisms will lead to deterioration of water quality, lack of oxygen and other problems, affecting the health and growth of organisms. Determine the appropriate number of breeding according to the size of the aquarium and the capacity of the filtration system.

In short, aquarium engineering requires patience and carefulness. Every link is interrelated. Only by comprehensively considering and taking all precautions can a healthy and beautiful aquarium ecosystem be created.
