Cylindrical aquariums are a favorite among interior designers and architects around the world for many reasons. First, they provide a 360-degree view of the aquarium, making them a great feature in busy spaces. They are also a cost-effective way to provide a tall aquarium that, when well lit, is filled with brightly colored corals and stock, creating a charming display.

Glass fish tank or acrylic fish tank?

Leyu Acrylic's cylindrical aquariums are made of high-definition transparent acrylic. Acrylic is commonly known by brands such as Plexiglas, Acrylic, Lucite, Perclax and Perspex.

Building a cylindrical aquarium out of acrylic is much safer than using glass because acrylic has higher impact resistance, making it a safer choice for public spaces. Acrylic also has other benefits, including greater transparency and scratches can be easily removed with polishing.

Another benefit of acrylic over glass is that there is much less visual distortion when looking through a curved acrylic sheet than through a curved glass sheet. The fish will appear distorted when viewed through the curved glass panels, but this is not a problem when the cylinder is made of acrylic.

So far, the largest cylindrical cylinder produced and installed by Leyu Factory is 10 meters in diameter and 13 meters in height. Located in a large shopping mall in China, there are mermaid performances every day, which not only brings people joy but also increases their shopping enjoyment.

The most important thing is that compared with ordinary glass fish tanks, acrylic fish tanks have beautiful shapes, good light transmission, low refractive index, superior viewing effects and higher safety factors. Acrylic is the first choice for large fish tanks.

Cylindrical aquarium construction technology

When building a cylindrical aquarium from acrylic, there are two main construction methods. The bonded cylinder is formed by joining two curved panels together. This technique is typically used to create large cylinders with diameters exceeding 1 meter. The adhesive cylinder has two lines, faintly visible where the panels join.
