Installing an infinity pool involves several steps to ensure proper structure and functionality of the pool.
Here is an overview of how an infinity pool is typically installed:
1. Design and Planning:
The first step in installing an infinity pool is to design the pool layout, taking into account the location, size, shape and desired features of the pool. The design will also include the placement of infinity edges, catch basins, circulation systems and any additional elements such as lighting or water features.
2. Excavation and Construction:
Once the design is completed, the construction process begins with excavation of the pool area. The pool shell is constructed of concrete or other suitable material, with a sump built below the infinity edge to collect overflow water. Plumbing components such as skimmers, pumps, filters and other components are installed along with the necessary electrical wiring.
3. Infinity edge installation:
For the "infinity" element of the pool, a weir or vanishing edge is placed along one side of the pool and connected to a reservoir. The water then flows over this edge in an uninterrupted sheet, giving the illusion of being beyond the physical boundaries of the pool. The rim usually consists of a raised wall or lip that is level with the water's surface, allowing water to overflow into the sump.
4. Circulation system:
A circulation system is installed to pump water from the sump back to the main pool, creating a continuous flow of water at the infinity edge. The system includes pumps, filters and pipes to maintain water quality and circulation.
5. Finishing touches:
Once the pool structure and circulation system are in place, the final finishing touches, such as tile, decking, lighting and landscaping, complete the infinity pool installation. These elements enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the pool.
6. Testing and inspection:
Before the swimming pool is filled with water, it is tested and inspected to ensure that all components are functioning properly and that the swimming pool meets safety and quality standards.
Overall, installing an infinity pool requires careful planning, skilled construction and attention to detail to create a stunning, functional pool that enhances the beauty and value of the property.
To ensure that your swimming pool is built to safety and construction standards, it is important to hire a professional who specializes in this type of work. A qualified contractor can help you navigate the process from start to finish, ensuring your pool is built correctly and with high-quality materials.
